Join us for a reading by Karla Cordero on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 pm in Room LL430.
Hear the first Latina poet on the San Diego Elevated slam team read from her work and talk about her advocacy. Karla Cordero curates Voices for Change, a reading series of spoken word artists who share their narratives on survival. She also hosts writing workshops for undocumented migrants in shelters in Mexicali, Mexico. Cordero, received her MFA from SDSU and currently teaches at San Diego City College. You can find more about her written work at: www.spitjournal.com which she edits.
This reading is a presentation of the Hugh Hyde Living Writers Series, which began at SDSU over twenty-five years ago. Generously endowed by Mr. Hyde in 2000, the series is one of the longest continuously running reading series in the nation. All events are free and open to the public.
